All About Melissa Loa

Melissa Loa is currently enrolled in the New Media and Web Development program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Whilst turning her passion into her career, Melissa is a part-time barista.

Are you wondering why Melissa chose the path of graphics and web design? In 2007, Melissa Loa graduated from high school and had no direction in life. She loved the digital arts and had been building up her skills within that field for as long as she can remember. Her passion first began when she was 12 years old when she first learnt basic HTML and Photoshop all on her own. However, since she had been working with graphics and web design for so long, she decided it was time for a change.

Melissa completed her certificate in Digital Animation from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in October 2008. However, as much as she enjoyed the change, digital animation wasn’t her true passion. Don’t get her wrong, she still enjoys creating objects in 3D, but her true passion lies within graphics and web design.

By looking through all of Melissa’s artwork, you may begin to wonder where Melissa finds her inspiration. Whenever she can, she spends her free time outdoors. She mostly finds her inspiration through nature, to be specific, tropical islands She enjoys being in the outdoors, whether it be hiking and camping or relaxing on the beach. She also finds inspiration through 3D movies, such as “Despicable Me” or games, such as “Little Big Planet.”

Melissa Loa aspires to become a great graphics designer and web designer/developer someday. To view her work, please visit www.melissaloa.com. If you have any questions about her, feel free to contact her via email (mjade.loa@gmail.com)
